Junior/Intermediate Project Manager

Working as part of the Projects Team, this appointment will report directly to the Senior Project Manager for the company. The role will include fielding incoming calls and emails from Customers, Drivers and Sub-contractors, assisting and dealing with the planning & scheduling of road transport operations and planning and assisting with the movement of Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AILs), including obtaining required permits, undertaking route surveys, and providing customer reports.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for managing operations on a cost effective basis and assisting in producing method statements, CAD drawings, lift plans etc.

The candidate will initially be responsible for assisting with the running of projects, with a focus to then developing to take responsibility and manage these functions.  They must be customer focused, have an attention to detail, be able to complete all necessary documentation, commercially astute and be suitable to work on a personal level with the client base.


  • Minimum education to O Level standard (maths and English essential), but A Level or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a logistics environment preferred but not essential.
  • Full clean driving license would be preferred but is not essential.

Office Skills

  • Demonstrate ability to complete tasks, with attention to detail.
  • Have a good understanding and geographic knowledge of the UK and Europe.
  • Ability to record and report progress & development of the task.
  • High level of computer skill and competency, including use of CAD Software.

Individuals will be flexible and willing to learn in order to develop in the role, be effective communicators at all levels and be able to build business relationships with colleagues and clients

The role is based at our Goole depot, but some travel may be required to travel between other depots or clients in order to oversee or manage some percentage of the task.

Anticipated normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs. Overtime and weekend working is required by the demands of the business. 28 days Holiday per year including Bank Holidays. Company contributions to the Company pension scheme are offered subject to conditions. Overnight subsistence costs are paid when away from base.
