Visual Route Inspections

Site Visits - Swept Path Analysis - Traffic Management Plans - Visual Route Inspection - Test Drives

Our Visual Route Inspections begin with the undertaking of a desk based study to identify possible loading configurations based on our extensive knowledge and experience of Heavy Transport projects.

This study will identify all possible routes for the loaded vehicles unless potential routes have already been identified by our client.

Our team will then carry out Site Visits to determine the feasibility of the identified route(s) and pinch points.  During the site survey the horizontal and vertical alignment of the routes will also be assessed.

Where possible Mitigation Measures will be suggested along the identified route(s).  Collett Consulting's experience of previous projects will be called upon to identify the most suitable route and methods of transport to combat issues such as low bridges, crests, weight restrictions and width issues.  Both specialist and standard methods of transport will be considered.

A standard Visual Route Inspection will highlight potential land-take & road widening requirements, ground clearance issues and head room restrictions.  Our team will consider gradients for delivery, supply Ordnance Survey grid referencing and provide a conclusion of the route(s) inspected complete with photographic evidence.
