Garage Supervisor

Location: Halifax

The Garage Supervisor Role Will Include

  • Completing internal paperwork/CRM updates.
  • Plan, organize, supervise and coordinate the day-to-day running of the garage.
  • Assist in the diagnosis of problems and repairing of vehicles as needed.
  • Service/repair/inspect vehicles, trailers and plant to MOT standard.
  • Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required.
  • Ensure the planned shift workload is completed and/or handed over to next shift.
  • Ensure that necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available or obtainable at short notice.
  • Liaison with the Operations Team to ensure vehicles availability for scheduled inspections.
  • Any other reasonable duties as workload requires.


  • City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician.
  • The ability to organise work on own initiative and work under pressure.
  • Experience working with trailers, hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
  • Experience of diagnostic computers would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Having a C+E (Class 1) Licence would be preferred but not essential.

  • Good computer skills – previous use of CRM system preferred.

  • To contribute to the department’s strategic vision of the company’s requirements.


The role is based at our Halifax depot, but flexibility and mobility is required to carry out the task.  Anticipated normal working hours are 06.00 to 18.00 hours shifts, with one hour breaks, on a 4 on 4 off, rolling shift pattern.  Overtime working is required by the demands of the business.  20 days holiday per year including Bank Holidays.  Contributions to the Company pension scheme is offered subject to conditions.
