Junior Commercial Manager

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a proactive and commercially aware individual to join our team as a Junior Commercial Manager.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Customer-focused with strong communication and relationship management skills.

  • Organised and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects at once.

  • Self-motivated and eager to identify new business opportunities.

  • Commercially astute, with an understanding of contracts, insurance, and liability considerations.

  • Flexible and willing to learn, with a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial quotations and respond to customer enquiries and tenders daily.

  • Identify and follow up on sales leads and new business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless commercial and operational processes.

  • Seek cost-saving opportunities while improving resource utilisation and service quality.

  • Ensure all company commitments align with contractual terms, insurance, and liability constraints.

  • Maintain and update the CRM database.

  • Negotiate and understand legal, insurance, indemnity, and liability positions.

Qualifications / Experience (Preferred)

  • Degree in Business, Logistics, Commercial Law, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in a relevant sector.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft IT systems.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Excellent UK geographical knowledge.

Location & Conditions

  • Location: Based at our Goole depot, with flexibility to travel to other depots as required.

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, either 08:00–17:00 or 09:00–18:00 (as agreed with the line manager).

  • Holidays: 28 days per year (including bank holidays), with an option to purchase up to five additional days.
