New Greiner Bridge Crossing System Busy 1050 Added To Fleet
Collett has expanded its specialist heavy transport fleet with the addition of its first bridge crossing system, a new Greiner BUSY 1050.
As cargo continues to increase in size and weight, the trailer configurations and axle loads required to transport it can limit the routes available. Bridges, culverts and other load-restricted structures can prevent larger transport combinations from using an otherwise suitable route.
The BUSY 1050 provides an engineered bridge-over-bridge solution to overcome these restrictions. The modular system is assembled over the existing structure, creating a temporary crossing which allows the transport combination to pass over without applying the full axle loads directly to the structure below.
The new equipment is capable of overbridging structures up to 25 metres, while its modular design allows the crossing length to be adapted to suit the requirements of individual projects, providing the potential for both shorter and longer configurations.
Engineering and Deployment
With a rating of 1,050 meter/tonne, the capacity of the BUSY 1050 varies depending on the crossing span and transport configuration. Each application will be assessed by our Engineering department, with factors including the structure, axle configuration and load distribution used to calculate the required system configuration and permissible loading.

Deployment of the BUSY 1050 will bring together our Engineering, Heavy Lift and Heavy Transport teams, covering the planning and calculations, assembly of the crossing system and subsequent transport operation.
The investment reflects our continued focus on developing our specialist fleet around the changing requirements of our clients. Adding the BUSY 1050 provides another capability that can be considered from the early stages of route planning through to the final transport operation.
