Team of the Year 2025 Award Winners!
Collett are proud to announce that we have won the Team of the Year award at the Motor Transport Awards 2025.
The award-winning project centred on the successful delivery of a 234 Tonne stator as well as the transportation and installation of a 198 Tonne transformer to the Gretna Grid Stability Facility in Scotland.
This recognition is a testament to the outstanding work undertaken across the project, from initial planning through to final delivery and to the expertise of every member of our team. The award reflects our commitment to providing safe, innovative and reliable solutions for our clients.
About the project…
The first phase of the project involved transporting the 234Te stator using our 24-axle, 350Te Scheuerle girder bridge trailer from Heysham Port to a transhipment point located four miles from the facility. Due to restricted access and bridge structures along the final section, the stator was transhipped onto a 16-axle Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT).
Later in the year, Collett delivered the second phase of the project, managing the transport and installation of the transformer. Following a similar approach to the stator, the transformer was received at Heysham Port and transported on the girder bridge trailer before being transhipped onto SPMT.
On arrival at Gretna Grid Stability Facility, our Heavy Lift Team oversaw the precise installation of the transformer onto its designated concrete foundation.
The Motor Transport Awards celebrate achievement across the road transport sector. Receiving the Team of the Year award is a proud moment for Collett, recognising the hard work, collaboration and expertise of the team throughout this project.
