New Goldhofer Blade Lifter Added to Our Expanding Renewable Fleet

We are excited to announce the latest addition to our specialist wind turbine transport fleet with the purchase of a Goldhofer FTV850 Blade Lifter system.

This marks our second blade lifter trailer, enabling us to transport the latest generation of wind turbine blades with improved efficiency.

About the Blade Lifter:

The new Blade Lifter, manufactured by Goldhofer, comprises four core trailer elements:

  • FTV850 lifting module
  • 8-axle split lines
  • 6 driven axle lines
  • 530BHP ADDrive 2.0 power pack unit

The FTV850 lifting module has an 850 Tonne-metre load capacity and allows blades to be elevated from 0 to 60 degrees while rotated through a full 360° pitching rotation, giving us the flexibility to adapt to wind speed, direction, and route conditions. It can safely carry blades up to 100 metres long, designed to handle the increasing scale of today’s turbine components.

The split axle lines can be adjusted, offering four options between 3 and 4 metres wide, providing us with increased stability and load distribution based on blade weight, length, and centre of gravity. The system’s drive axles give us enhanced traction and manoeuvrability, even on challenging routes.

Scheduled to arrive in February 2026, the Blade Lifter will be deployed on the Sanquhar II Wind Farm project in Dumfries & Galloway and East Ayrshire. This 44-turbine extension will generate 308MW, making it the fourth-largest onshore wind farm in the UK once operational. The new Blade Lifter will operate alongside our existing unit, allowing both systems to work in convoy to deliver components efficiently and safely.
